The deep optical ZoA galaxy catalogue in Vela first indications of previously hidden large-scale structures
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis thesis presents a deep optical galaxy catalogue of the Vela region in the Zone of Avoidance (I b < 10°.245 < I < 280. This region was searched for galaxy candidates by optical inspection of IIIaJ (3950 A to 5400 A) film copies of the ESO/SRC sky survey as part of an effort to reduce the ZoA.
