Educación a lo largo de toda la vida: el caso del Aula Universitaria de Mayores "La Línea"

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

This is a research project based on the analysis of student's thoughts, feelings and experiences on their first year in Elderly University Class La Linea (we belong to the Elderly University Class of Cadiz). We are settled in La Linea de la Concepcion (Cadiz-Spain), in the building of the University Professional School of Teachers called "Virgen de Europa".The author's doctor degree research project has three parts: firstly, we gather information about the issue "being an elderly person in actual society and educational possibilities of this life moment." Secondly, we describe methodological decision (qualitative research, case-study, selection of participants, stages, data analysis...). Thirdly, we show the results in three dimensions: institutional (process and consequences for the University Professional School of Teachers "Virgen de Europa"), pedagogical (starting point of the lecturers to work with this group for the first time) and a personal-social dimension (we add what do elder people say about thoughts, feelings, changes and needs covered with these experiences).
