The Impact of Mindfulness-Based Interventions on Anxiety and Performance in Collegiate Athletics

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

In recent years, mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) have gained popularity as a strategy to improve mental well-being and athletic performance. College athletes face unique physical and psychological demands that make them susceptible to performance-related anxiety. Researchers have explored the use of MBIs as a way to manage this anxiety and enhance overall athletic outcomes. The purpose of this synthesis is to examine the literature on the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions in reducing anxiety and improving performance in collegiate athletes.
