Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe present thesis describes the chemoenzymatic synthesis of ent-neopinone. The total synthesis of neopinone was accomplished in 14 steps from B-bromoethylbenzene. The synthesis began with a microbial oxidation of bromobenzene by Escherichia coli JM109(pDTG601) and features a Heck reaction, aldol condensation and a 1,6-conjugate addition.
