Relação espaço-temporal da variação termopluviométrica e dos casos de dengue entre 2007 e 2011 em João Pessoa-PB.
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe objective of this work was to analyze the manifestation of dengue in the city of Joao Pessoa relating its occurrence with the climate variability between the period 2007 to 2011. This study was based on the Medical Geography, therefore, has a climate approach based on notes of Monteiro (2003) and other epidemiological investigation that was carried out in accordance with the roadmap of epidemiological research of dengue, according to the Guide of Epidemiological Surveillance (Ministry of Health, 2009). Thus, the following data were acquired: (a) precipitation data, (b) data of maximum and minimum temperature, (c) data on relative humidity of the air, and (d) cases of dengue. Climatological data were obtained from the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) and cases of dengue were collected in the Municipal Health Department of the city of João Pessoa. With this, we elaborate charts, graphs and statistical correlations between variables were developed. It is noticed that the highest number illness cases occur in neighborhoods endowed poor infrastructure and a strong correlation between the increase of infected people and the rainiest months.
