Parque Cuiá: o ponto de vista de um geógrafo para a construção de um plano de manejo.

With a disorderly urban growing, the impacts on nature and ecosystem degradation encreases, reducing opportunity for interaction between man and nature. The national policy of creating protected areas and specifically the construction of urban parks is extremely important for the conservation and maintenance of environmental balance of green areas in urban centers. In this work it was decided to conduct a study to propose the creation of a management plan, as precedes the National System of Conservation Units (2000), for Cuiá City Park, located in the neighborhood of Valentina Figueiredo, in the city of João Pessoa-PB. For this work, was done bibliographic and cartographic surveys, technical visits at studding area, conducted in order to physical- biotic Park characterization. As well, it was used geoprocessing techniques that allowed generate different cartographic products inherent at the research. Therefore, this work highlights the importance of Cuiá Park, and the requirement to create a management plan, identifying environmental problems and possible actions that aim at maintenance and preservation of the studding area.
