Levantamento de doenças em frutos de mamoeiro comercializados no município de Areia – PB e uso de métodos alternativos de controle da podridão penducular

Papaya (Carica papayaL.) is one of the most important fruits species in Brazil and suscetible for many pathogens attack in pre and postharvest. The objective of this work was to verify the main fungic diseases in papaya fruitsat market in Areia –PB. Itwasalso evaluated the efficiency of alternative products on postharvest diseases management. The survey of papaya diseases was done with four weekly evaluations, collected 15 papaya fruits. The application of alternative products was carried out in completely randomized designwith five treatments; T1 -Ecolife®, T2 -K+phosphite, T3 –distilled sterilized water, T4 -Rocksil®andT5 -Agro-Mós®, with five replications of five fruits.The severity evaluation was done using disease index scale.It was identified sevenfungi genera: Cladosporium sp.,Collletotrichum sp.,Alternaria sp.,Alternaria sp.,Rizophus sp.,Fusarium sp.,Curvularia sp.andAsperisporium sp..Among then detached Cladosporiumsp. with 88% of incidence and Colletotrichum sp. with 30%. The results indicated necessity of postharvest management for papaya fruits. Treatments used did not showed significative results when compared with non-treated fruits, concluded that in studied conditions that not showed efficiency of then. The physical-chemical quality of treated fruits did not suffered interference os used products.
