Produção de mandioca (Manihot esculenta Cranz) sob dois sistemas de plantio

Cassava is one of the main crops for both carbohydrates for food as feed. Being a plant rough adapts very well in environments with low water content and nutrients and therefore indicated for conditions Northeast. The research aimed to evaluate the production of aboveground biomass and root production of two varieties of cassava tame popularly known as "Cedinha" and "Pão do Chile", which are grown in two planting systems: Leirão and Cova. The trial was conducted under field conditions in the property "Site Cumbe" located in the municipality of Lagoa Seca - PB, the micro-arid Paraíba, with 615 meters of altitude, in soil classified as Alfissol. The experimental area was conducted chemical analysis of the surface layer of soil before planting. The experimental design followed a randomized block design, with three blocks distributed 2x2 factorial (characterized by two cassava varieties (Cedinha e Pão do Chile) and two planting systems (leirão e cova). From the results it was found not to influence of tillage systems on the variables analyzed, the varieties had significant effects on plant height, diameter and number of roots per plant and harvest index; Cedinha that variety was better than Pão do Chile in plant height and number of roots per plant, while the variety of Pão do Chile was better in root diameter and harvest index and both varieties showed a good harvest index (above 60%), however the variety Cedinha presents with better conditions of use in animal feed.
