Estudos de usuários em periódicos de Ciência da Informação: análise referente ao período 2009-2013

Scientific communication is made of scientific knowledge, which may only be produced by the evolution and consolidation of science itself. The journals are the most preferred way that researchers disseminate the results of their study to the scientific community. This research has a descriptive exploratory nature and aims to analyze the scientific production about the Users Study subject published in six electronic journals in Information Science. The implemented methodology included a literature survey on the Internet in a quantitative and qualitative approach. The journals researched were chosen because they are titles that fit in standard evaluation A1 and B1 Qualis / CAPES. The survey results showed 30 articles dealing with the Users Study, which were mapped in a universe of 717 articles published in journals during the period of 2009-2013. It was identified many types of studies among the articles mapped: use studies, search studies and information needs, studies of information behavior and usability. The analysis results are presented in graphs and tables. It has concluded that the Users Studyconstitute a topic that needs to be further explored by researchers of Information Science, for the users are the reason for the Information Systems to be.
