A atuação da Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente na proteção às zonas especiais de preservação: o caso do rio Jaguaribe no município de João Pessoa - PB

This monograph is the result of research conducted on the Jaguaribe River, area of great importance to the city of João Pessoa / PB, through which was analyzed the performance of the Municipal Secretariat of the Environment in protecting this special area of conservation. The methodology used for the elaboration of this research has a qualitative approach, resulting in a descriptive, exploratory study of the subject of environmental protection in João Pessoa, the research has been developed by identifying and reading the bibliographic and documentary material available as well as fieldwork has been conducted with the government agency responsible for protecting the area. As a result, we can highlight the understanding that the State, as detainer of the power, must constantly pursue the creation of decent existence for all of the society through the development of public policies to preserve the environment for present and future generations and the fight against any kind of environmental degradation.
