Turismo em João Pessoa PB e região metropolitana: análise do desenvolvimento no turismo local no período 2010-2014

This work aims to analyze the possible evolution and impacts of tourism in João Pessoa-PB-Brazil at 2010-2014 period and, in more specific terms, it aims to identify if occurred an increase in the tourism sector activities, besides the identification of some of their weak and strength points and programs in development by the organizations of tourism sector. This research focus on important themes to preservation and evolution of tourism activity in João Pessoa city, like the sustainability and sustainable tourism and technological innovation contributions to a more dynamic tourism. It explores too some public policies and programs oriented to the development in João Pessoa and Paraíba. Among several programs to support the tourism`s development coordinated by public administration agencies, this work selected PRODETUR/NE to be analyzed. This study also formulates recommendations to public policies that can contribute to the development of sectors that might reveal potential for tourism.
