This research focus on important themes to preservation and evolution of tourism activity in João Pessoa city, like the sustainability and sustainable tourism and technological innovation contributions to a more dynamic tourism. It explores too some public policies and programs oriented to the development in João Pessoa and Paraíba. Among several programs to support the tourism`s development coordinated by public administration agencies, this work selected PRODETUR/NE to be analyzed.
