Análise da rugosidade superficial de uma resina nanoparticulada e de um ionômero de vidro resinoso após ação de aparelho profilático

dc:description.abstractThe rough surface of restorative materials can compromise the aesthetics and durability of the restorations, since biofilm accumulates and becomes more susceptible to decay and gum inflammation. This study aimed to investigate the surface roughness of a composite nanoparticles (Filtek Z350/3M ESPE) and an ionomer resin light-cured glass (Vitrofil Lc/DFL), subjected to the action of prophylactic device (jet of sodium bicarbonate in presence and absence of sodium bicarbonate powder). It was an applied research with inductive approach and comparative and statistical procedure. Sixty specimens, with thirty of each material were prepared using a Teflon mold measuring 6mm in diameter and 2mm thick, light cured and stored in distilled water at 37 ºC. Then, they were divided for study into four groups (G) of fifteen and held an initial reading rugosimetric: GA resin (prophylactic device powder with baking soda - 10s), GB resin (prophylactic device without sodium bicarbonate powder - 10s), GC ionomer (prophylactic device powder with baking soda - 10s), GD ionomer (prophylactic device without sodium bicarbonate powder - 10s). Data were collected with the aid of the profilometer (Mitutoyo SJ - P 201, Japan) through three readings in the specimen (one in the center and two on each side) and analyzed taking into consideration the average roughness (Ra) in microns (μm), using the paired t test, ANOVA and Tukey's test with a significance level of p <0.05. According to the methodology, it was concluded that no significant difference was found in the surface roughness of the composite, however, the glass ionomer cement showed the greatest change in surface roughness after applying the jet with sodium bicarbonate compared to just jet with air and water pressure.
