Estados Unidos e América Latina: as condicionalidades da Guerra Fria e o impacto da administração Eisenhower
Abstract
dc:description.abstractLatin America on the 1950’s had different necessities from the ones imposed by the Cold War optic. While the world powers discussed about security, the Latin-Americans were looking for support to their development program. The disparity between the agendas was due to the region externality to the conflict. Such condition generated a negligent posture from the United States, natural ally of Latin America, which end up intensifying the anti-Americanism feeling. On this scenario case, this research seeks to do a multilateral analysis of foreign policy to observe how the systemic conjuncture and the Eisenhower Administration’s foreign policy influenced Latin America and, specifically, Brazil. The Cold War certainly limited the action possibilities of Ike government, but it was the deaf dialogue adopted that intensified the dissatisfaction of the Latin neighbors.
