Percepção de idosos sobre o processo de transição ocupacional: do trabalho à aposentadoria

In the aging process of the times that the elderly spend is occupational transition from work to retirement. This moment can be experienced with suffering and loss or as an opportunity to experience new occupational activities or resumption of meaningful activities. There are few studies that investigated how is this process of occupational transition. This study aims to understand how the elderly perceive the process of occupational transition from work to retirement and its implications in daily life and your health. It is a descriptive and exploratory study, contemplating a qualitative approach. The participants were eight elderly men and women, retired. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview and analyzed used content analysis. This research brings as a result the work is considered an occupation of paramount importance in their lives, so that even after retirement, work remains one of the many daily reorganizing. The work is the possibility of (re) integration and generates feelings of use to them. It can be concluded that early retirement occurs a phase shift, in which older people need a preparation to restructure their time and activities that will engage this new phase of life, so that they can be performing significant occupations and feel If satisfied, active and socially integrated.
