Qual o nível de mudança na política externa do primeiro governo Obama contra o terrorismo para o Paquistão e o Afeganistão?

After the terrorist attacks of September 11th, terrorism was raised, as the main challenge of the International System, security and defense area. The result was the formulation of a new perception in the trend that was leading the United States’s international relations, the "Bush Doctrine". But in 2009, Barack Obama assumes the Presidency, trying to recapture certain aspects of the strategic status quo that existed in the Middle East before the attacks, called through a new beginning in the american foreign policy for the Middle East. The objective of this study is to identify the level of change in foreign policy that occurred in the measures adopted towards the Afghanistan and Pakistan region during the Obama administration. Through a qualitative approach, will be shown the measures of United States’s foreign policy for the Middle East adopted in the Bush administration and in the Obama administration and using the Hermann’s model of change in foreign policy, will be shown as well the relationship between the primary agents of change in decision-making process and its influence on the level of change in foreign policy. Therefore you can see that there is basically a program change in the Obama administration, in which only the means are changed but the purpose for which these means are used remains the same.
