A influência da religião no crescimento do movimento Talibã no Afeganistão (1989 a 1996)

This paper aims to analyze the rise of the Taliban movement in Afghanistan and the use of religion to achieve power in the country, focusing mainly in the period between 1989 and 1996, when the Soviet Union leaves the country until the capture of Kabul and other provinces. The origins of Taliban are controversial and to understand them an analysis of Afghan history is required, that is a domination tangled and intertwined by periods of great influence of the dominant powers. The period of the Soviet invasion and the implications left by this, will be emphasized, since that time was largely responsible for the first appearances of the Taliban. Thus, developing a historical review of what has been going on in Afghanistan in recent decades, this work aims to show how the religion is presented in the country and how it gains strength, showing the importance of madrassas (Islamic schools) and how the Taliban use them as a source of power to gain followers and conquer great part of the country.
