Resolução de Problemas: uma investigação no sexto ano da Educação de jovens e adultos – EJA.

This paper presents research on the mathematical problem solving in the sixth year of the Youth and Adult Education - EJA, a public school in the city of Boa Vista - PB. For theoretical basis of this work we analyze the theoretical: (LIMA, 2006), (RIBEIRO, 2001), (Ghiraldelli JR, 2008), (Polya, 1995) and (DANTE, 2009) and the document Proposal National Curriculum for Youth Education and Adult - EJA (BRAZIL, 2001). For the research we chose to work with a questionnaire on the profile of students, but also in relation to the major difficulties encountered by them in solving a mathematical problem, exercises on problem solving, in order to investigate the level of students' knowledge related to theme. We use qualitative research in order to analyze which occurred more mistakes, given that there are numerous difficulties in carrying out activities related to problem solving. In this sense, we aim to work in an attempt to minimize these difficulties, in order to improve this teaching methodology. Thus, this research pointed out some problems related to the theme and some solutions in the process of teaching and learning, in order to bring some contribution to the teaching of this methodology.
