Violência doméstica contra a mulher: caracterização e atitude da equipe de saúde da família frente a este problema

This is a qualitative study, conducted with 11 professionals from the Family Health Strategy, aimed at assessing the caracterizacion of professionals facing the issue of domestic violence against women. Data were collected through a structured interview semi-structured interviews with professionals from a Family Health Unit of the Sanitary District of Suburban Railway in the city of Salvador, Bahia. Data were analyzed using content analysis of Bardin. It was observed that professionals characterize domestic violence as a serious problem, serious and important in society, yet some feel powerless to assist the women in this situation. It proved necessary to make manifest the problem of domestic violence against women within the health services so that the situation can be understood in all its complexity as a problem that is social justice and also public health.
