Data were collected through a structured interview semi-structured interviews with professionals from a Family Health Unit of the Sanitary District of Suburban Railway in the city of Salvador, Bahia. Data were analyzed using content analysis of Bardin. It was observed that professionals characterize domestic violence as a serious problem, serious and important in society, yet some feel powerless to assist the women in this situation.
