"Shear Lag" em estruturas tubulares de paredes delgadas
Abstract
dc:description.abstractClosed form solutions for deflections and stresses in thin-walled tubular beams are presented. The analytical equations are developed within an energy approach where shear strains and shear lag effects are considered. Explicit expressions for transverse deflections and stesses are given for cantilever box beams. For tubular sections of more general geometries, like bridge sections, semi-explicit expressions are presented to several combinations of boundary and loading conditions. The importance of shear lag effect is demosntrated through comparisons whith classical theoretical results.
