The analytical equations are developed within an energy approach where shear strains and shear lag effects are considered. Explicit expressions for transverse deflections and stesses are given for cantilever box beams. For tubular sections of more general geometries, like bridge sections, semi-explicit expressions are presented to several combinations of boundary and loading conditions.
