ln this work application of the First Order Second Moment reliability theory was used to asses the nominal failure probability of framed structures. A elast-plastic limit state function to structural elements and specialists methods were used for this purpose. A method to identify the most likely failure modes was developed. The software was implemented in a parallel computer with a host (microVax) associated to 21 nodes 68020 Motorola processors with 2 Mbytes of memory.
