Interação local-global na flambagem de colunas de seção U enrijecida
Abstract
dc:description.abstractA theoretical analysis of the behaviour of thin-walled lipped channel columns under concentric and eccentric loading is presented. A semi-energy method is used to investigate the non-linear interaction between the local and global flexural buckling modes. The results of this analysis show the stable and unstable local post-critical equilibrium paths, for various columns, plus the growth of membrane stress distribution during the post-critical process. The theoretical ultimate load is compared with some experimental results. Besides, some important design prescriptions are examined on the light of the obtained theoretical results.
