Influência de escavações nos recalques em edificações vizinhas

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

The orientation of the present dissertation is towards the study of the influence of deep excavations on the settlements of adjoining structures. Firstly the data obtained through field instrumentation and direct observation of the construction of several sections of Line 1 of the Rio de Janeiro subway are presented. A study of settlement follows, where its main causes are discussed, as well as the effects of the methodology of excavation and installation of the bracing to support the walls. The analysis was undertaken with a view to the quantification of relevant parameters affecting movements in general. It could be verified that the amount of settlement due to consolidation can be of the same order of magnitude as that due to the excavation itself. ln some sections, settlements due to the excavation were controlled by the horizontal movements of the wall, and in this case the soil strength and bracing stiffness are factors of paramount importance.
