Hyperbolic parameters to be used in stress-strain analysis by the Finite Element Method are obtained with triaxial tests on undisturbed soil samples. The soil studied was a sand containing 7% clay and 8% silt. Two 30 x 30 x 30 cm undisturbed samples were collected in the subway excavation, near Monroe Palace, in Rio de Janeiro. Sample locations were, 10,50 m and 12,00 m deep, and approximately 20 m apart. Tests under consolidated-undrained and consolidated-drained conditions were carried out. The consolidated-drained tests were performed under two stress-paths: 1) σ1 increasing, σ3 constant, 2) σ1 constant, σ3 decreasing. Computer programs were developed in order to elaborate tests results and to obtain the hyperbolic parameters automatically. These programs as well as others concernig the shear parameters are listed herein. The results of the consolidated-drained tests were used by Jorge Fujii and Mitsuo Tsutsumi, as they performed the analysis of a braced excavation, in their M.Sc. thesis, COPPE//UFRJ.
