Las máscaras del poder y resistencia de la mujer en la narrativa de Rosario Ferré.

The objective of this work is to examine the configuration of the power relations in the narrative of Rosario Ferré, presently Puerto Rico's most relevant writer. The established hypothesis in this current analysis is that the Puerto Rican writer's most representative fiction deconstructs and confronts the fundamental powers and the central discourses that have dominated the historical and cultural panorama of Puerto Rico during a great part of the twentieth century and the initial years of the twenty-first. Also, as a secondary effect of the literary dismantling of those powers and central discourses, Rosario Ferré proposes a radical repositioning of the rights of the Puerto Rican woman and by extension, the Latin American woman. The theoretical Framework of this study is based on a strand of the so-called cultural criticism, which primarily takes into consideration the conceptualizations of Michel Foucault and Mikhail Bakhtin in both the power relations in the socio-political setting and in the literary discourses.
