Collective Efficacy: It's Meaning, Measure, and Impact on Student Achievement

This study examines the relationship between collective teacher efficacy (CTE), where teachers collectively believe in their ability to positively impact student learning, and student academic achievement, finding that a strong sense of collective efficacy among educators is significantly correlated with higher student performance across various subject areas, suggesting that fostering a collaborative school environment where teachers feel empowered to work together is crucial for promoting student success; further research could explore the mechanisms through which collective teacher efficacy influences teaching practices and student outcomes. With the concern of student achievement at the center of educational policy, it is important to determine how to create a school culture in which all students have a fair opportunity to succeed. The main purpose of this review is to determine if there is concrete evidence supporting a positive relationship between collective efficacy and student achievement.
