Abstract
dc:descriptionThe dissertation describes detection methods for different dynamical phenomena. Rotational as well as translational motion is studied using similar theoretical approaches. A new method for the analysis of rotational dynamics is described that allows the computation of angular displacement propagators out of two-dimensional solid-state exchange NMR spectra, describing the rotational motion of the molecules. This analysis was performed for the example of dimethylsulfone and simulated data. PFG-NMR is used to measure translational motion of liquids in different areas of application. In granular flow in a half filled rotating horizontal cylinder the influence of inertia effects of the particles on the velocity-depth profile is shown. In suspensions of particles undergoing Couette flow the influence of the volume fraction of the particles on the tangential velocity is demonstrated. In vertical falling liquid films the parabolic dependence of the velocity component in the direction of gravitation is corroborated, as well as the theoretical deduced critical Reynoldsnumber for the change from laminar to laminar-wavy behavior of the film. In the laminar-wavy regime the film exhibits two-dimensional waves, the waves in the wavy regime are three-dimensional.
