Retrospektive Vergleichsstudie über implantatverankerten Zahnersatz im zahnlosen Unterkiefer : subjektive Patientenevaluation seitens der Patienten

Purpose: Aim of this survey was the comparison of the subjective evaluation about satisfaction with implant-anchored prosthetic treatment of 4 patient groups, which had been treated in the edentulous mandible according to the 4 “Aachen Treatment Concepts”. Materials and Methods: To accomplish this retrospective monocenter study a questionnaire with several categories was developed. The questionnaire was filled in by 100 patients (25 patients/group) who came to the clinic for recall appointments. Results: The descriptive and analytic statistical analysis of the data showed a high satisfaction rate with the implant-anchored dentures in all 4 groups (minimum >64% were very satisfied). Best evaluation was given to the fixed denture (concept IV). Satisfaction decreased significantly from concept IV to concept I. Conclusions: A high wearing comfort and a definite retention were more important to patients than the ease of maintenance of the new dentures. A correlation between gender and satisfaction could not be shown (p=0,4054).
