Fließverhalten des Blutes bei geriatrischen Patienten : eine Beurteilung anhand des Aachener Risikoprofils und der Vollblutdichte
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe intention of this study was to analyse blood of dehydrated geriatric patients by the parameters of the Aachen rheology profile ( hematocrit, erythrocyte aggregation, plasma viscosity and erythrocyte deformability ) and the whole blood viscosity. In addition we wanted to know if it is possible to identify those patients who need a hemorheological therapy. Furthermore it was tested if variations of the Aachen rheology profile can be recognized by the whole blood viscosity. Conclusions of the study: Unsorted geriatric patients present a significant decrease of hematocrit by anemia. In most of the examined patients a hemorheological potent dehydration can be excluded. We found a significant decrease and increase of the erythrocyte aggregation and plasma viscosity. A further differentiation seems impossible in cause of the multimorbidity and the small number of patients. The erythrocyte aggregation ist increased in patients with an elevated hematocrit in cause of plasmaconcentration and a higher rate of plasmaprotein. Blood viscosity correlates with hematocrit and is not a parameter to diagnose dehydration. Erythrocyte deformability is reduced in geriatric patients. Although we can guess a connection between erythrocyte deformability and clinical signs of dehydration follow-up studies are needed.
