Synthese, Kristallstrukturbestimmung und Magnetismus einiger Cyclopentadienyl-Derivate von Ti, Gd und Sm
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe present dissertation deals with the synthesis, crystal structure and magnetism of mononuclear gadolinium and binuclear titanium and samarium compounds. In the case of Ti(III) and Sm(III) binuclear complexes with several bridging ligands and in the case of Gd(III) a mononuclear compound with cyclopentadienid ligands have been synthetized. The compunds were structurally elucidated and magnetochemically characterized. The measurement of the magnetic susceptibility was performed by means of a SQUID magnetometer in the temperature range between 1.7K and 300K under consideration of an optimized calibration algorithm for molecular compounds. The fitting procedures were carried out using the computer program CONDON. They showed that the titanium complexes have strong antiferromagnetic spin-spin coupling, whereas extremely weak antiferromagnetic interactions have been detected for the lanthanide complexes. The gadolinium compund shows Curie-Weiss behavior with a very small negative theta value. The effective Bohr magneton number is temperature dependend on account of energetically closely multipletts.
