In this Master’s Thesis, the definitions of wages by different authors are compared, the forms, functions and models of wages are identified and described, the wage differentiation is defined and the sorts thereof are identified as well as the factors determining the wage differentiations are summarised. The analysis of wage fluctuation in different economic sectors has been carried out as well as the wage differentiation in the selected economic sectors has been evaluated with regard to individual regions. The regions have been grouped within the selected economic sectors according to wage, and the regional groups with least differences in average wage (within the selected economic sectors) have been identified. The analysis on factors determining the size of wage in different economic sectors has been carried out as well as factors best explaining the distribution of wages in the Lithuanian regions within the selected economic sectors have been accentuated. The following hypothesis of the scientific research proved to be true: the financial and insurance sector (K) is indeed among sectors with greatest fluctuations in wages identified.
