New Strategies for the Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis of Nitrofural and Its New Derivatives // Нови стратегии за качествения и количествен анализ на Nitrofural и неговите нови производни
Abstract
dc:descriptionOver the last few decades, polymorphism has become increasingly important in global pharmaceutical production. Today, in pharmaceutical practice, the concept of polymorphism is the knowledge that polymorphism is the most crucial factor determining the biological effect and ultimate therapeutic efficacy of many drugs. The qualitative pharmacopoeial analysis is not less important. It aims at reaching a higher level of certainty in identifying each pharmacopoeial representative. Of no less importance is the need for the emergence of new, more active and selective drugs. The necessity for synthesising new anti-infectives is closely related to the ongoing manifestation of bacterial resistance. In this regard, the influence of Nitrofural polymorphism on the specific spectral (Infrared) behaviour of the semicarbazone C=O functional group was established. The existence of a metastable Nitrofural form has also been proven. In addition, an innovative approach has been proposed by which the synthesis and, simultaneously, the presence of known and unknown Nitrofural polymorphs can be spectrally detected. In addition, two new qualitative methods for the Nitrofural identification analysis have been introduced. The possibilities for synthesising new 5-(5-nitrofuran-2-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives with a precursor Nitrofural have been investigated.
