Economic Processes and Environmental Repercussions: Synthesizing Economics, Ecology and Thermodynamics

Abstract

dc:description

Economic processes and environmental quality influence each other in complex ways. The use of resources and energy provided by the environment allows economic systems to be sustained and grow while the production and consumption of goods and services transform materials and energy, thereby leading to qualitative changes in the environment.
