Yet, this study shows that there is significant overlap in the core concepts underlying these three disciplines. Additionally, methods confined typically to the individual disciplines can be combined to give valuable insight into economy-environment interactions.","The study provides a first formal approach to economic actions and environmental repercussions motivated by the overlap of the core concepts of economics, ecology and thermodynamics.
