Assessment of SDOH And AL Impact on Breast and Prostate Cancer Mortality
Abstract
dc:descriptionThis dissertation examines how Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) become biologically embodied through allostatic load (AL) and influence breast and prostate cancer severity. Using electronic health record data, geocoded neighborhood disadvantage measures, and longitudinal biomarker profiles, I operationalized multi-subsystem AL (cardiovascular, metabolic, immune, neuroendocrine) across multiple pre-diagnosis time points. These findings advance informatics methods for integrating social and physiologic data and highlight chronic stress biology as a potential pathway underlying cancer disparities.
