A Comparison of the Effects of the Individualized and Basal Reader Approaches to Teaching Reading to Second Grade Children.
Abstract
dc:description.abstractFor the last two decades a new approach to teaching reading has aroused much interest in educational circles and created a considerable amount of controversy as well. Individualized reading, as it is called by most reading authorities, is not a method of teaching reading, but a framework of ideas and techniques within which the teacher and child move to insure that each child learns to read in the most efficient manner possible.
