Leadership and decision making in complex settings

The purpose of this research portfolio was to help senior health system leaders (referred to as “senior leaders” herein) improve their decision making processes in order to yield better decisions and outcomes in complex settings. The portfolio components are illustrative of the complexity of the subject matter itself and show but a few of the various settings in which decision making is highly contextualized and nuanced. This dissertation portfolio contains five separate components, all of which demonstrate various elements and distinct contexts where leadership and decision making are at the centre of the issues being presented. Three separate papers are included, followed by a knowledge mobilization plan, and illustrative examples of how learning has been applied during the course of study.
