Abstract

dc:description.abstract

This paper investigates the attitudes of local people at the south-western border of the Etosha National Park (Namibia) towards a buffer zone on private farmland. Results are compared with expert opinions and literature. Research methods are qualitative interviews and participant observation. The farmland at the south-western border of the Etosha National Park is used for multiple purposes ranging from classical cattle farming to wildlife farming for consumptive (trophy hunting) or non-consumptive use (tourism).
