A Quantitative Analysis of Ground-Water Flow Toward Branson Missouri From Table Rock Reservoir

The rapid development of the Branson, Missouri region has affected various important natural systems. This development, coupled with a substantial change in water level in the White River valley resulting from the construction of three major reservoirs, levels currently induce approximately 1.1*10⁶ gallons of water per day to flow out of Table Rock Lake toward wells in Branson. Thus a major portion of Branson's water supply is indirectly taken from Table Rock Lake. Further development and increased water demand of the area will accelerate this outflow. Therefore, any degradation of the quality of water in Table Rock Lake could seriously endanger the quality of Branson's water supply.
