A Comparative Study of the Effects of the Difference in Self-Esteem of the Middle School Students After Conflict Management Instruction

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

This study examines the issue of whether the introduction and implementation of conflict management training in the classroom affects the students' self-esteem. Two classes of fifth graders, one a control group, and the other receiving intervention, were given the "Self-Esteem Inventory" as a pre-and post-test. Comparison was made using analysis of covariance with the pre-measure of self-esteem as the covariate. At the conclusion of the study, the adjusted means of the two groups indicated no statistically significant difference.
