O uso da calculadora na resolução de problemas envolvendo as quatro operações fundamentais no 7º ano do Ensino Fundamental.

The calculator is a tool for easy access and handling, so it is common to find it in middle school and also in the social environment, so it was necessary to study a reflection about the importance of this instrument in the process of teaching and learning of mathematics. In this perspective, we see how the influence of this instrument may affect the development of skills and strategies to solve problems involving the four fundamental operations. For it was necessary to perform a literature search in order to know the views of scholars and researchers in this area. In addition, a survey was conducted in the field, in order to meet the conceptions of mathematics teachers on the use of the calculator as a teaching tool, its advantages and disadvantages for students' learning. To carry out field research and data collection questionnaires were used with students and teachers, aiming to verify the performance of students in 7th grade of elementary education, problem solving, which were proposed, at first, problem situations to be solved without a calculator and the second time using the calculator and then present an analysis of the performance of students in both situation.
