In this perspective, we see how the influence of this instrument may affect the development of skills and strategies to solve problems involving the four fundamental operations. For it was necessary to perform a literature search in order to know the views of scholars and researchers in this area. In addition, a survey was conducted in the field, in order to meet the conceptions of mathematics teachers on the use of the calculator as a teaching tool, its advantages and disadvantages for students' learning.
