Biblioteca escolar: um olhar sobe a biblioteca da Escola Municipal Aruanda no município de João Pessoa - PB

This paper presents a brief history and importance of the library, highlighting the school library as an additional tool for education. It aims to identify and present the practices developed in the school library, with the object of study the library of the School Aruanda, located in the neighborhood of Bank in the city of João Pessoa, study subjects whose were his students. The research is exploratory, using the direct method, with quantitative and qualitative approach, through the questionnaire method. The analysis and results of information collected are illustrated by tables and charts. Based on the results obtained understand that the school library has some deficiencies related to the collection, physical, technological and human resources composition, notably the lack of librarians. Given the facts, this study suggests analyze and consider the contribution that the school library can offer to the student's performance, along with the collaboration and support of teachers and pedagogical coordination, emphasizing reading as part of the learning process.
