Abstract
dc:description.abstractDue to the fact that the deaf literacy in Portuguese Language presents as an incipient stage content to literature within country, hence the need for studies that can move in this direction. Considering this, the presente study aims to identify in the pedagogical practice of the deaf professionals, literacy models used for them and their possibilities in the process of L2 acquisition. Thus, this research uses qualitative research with explanatory and exploratory approach conducted with a sample of 7 (seven) individuals that presentes deaf literacy imbricated to their professional practices. Through the analysis of the questionnaires technique, the study points as main themes the categories related to the professional profile of the subjects of the sample; on their knowledge about literacy in Portuguese and, finally, data relating to the conceptual and methodological notes on deaf literacy. In short, methodological possibilities identified in pedagogical practice of research subjects can direct arrangements for models that do not the more necessary to use, and others who deserve to be better studied and practiced among the latter is evaluated as necessary in the practice of deaf literacy the models that take into account the bilingual proposal because in addition to considering the most appropriate methodological foundations in working with the deaf, the deaf as subject, the deaf as person and community practices this subject, not just the "alleged/prescribed disability".
