Trabalhando multiplicação e divisão com números naturais através de métodos históricos.

The objective of this work is done by the intention to deepen the study of the basic operations and provide subsidies for working significantly operations aimed at overcoming learning difficulties in the operations of multiplication and division. Climb the idea that the basic operation is not merely formulas to be decorated, but show its importance both historically and applied to daily life, allowing us to present the formal mathematical methods in other ways used by other people, and enabling increase the ability to solve problems. For this purpose, we used questionnaires with items addressed problems situations of multiplication and division and a post-test that assessed the degree of difficulty of the methodologies presented to students of the 5th year of elementary school to a public school in Patos county in order to collect data to be analyzed. It was observed that the more varied the opportunities for learning, the greater the capacity building / child's intelligence. With this design, research, contributed to the student to take an independent stance and consistent with the reality in which it operates working their cognitive development.
