Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis collection of poems focuses entirely on the necessity and terror of human relationships. From various experiences and situations the need for human interactions illustrates both the breath-like requirement of such connections and the nooses that accompany contact. Each relationship is necessary and burdensome with obligations and pains. Still the loss, of which many poems explore, is never wholly welcome. Perhaps, it is when the reality of it is still new. The disintegration of a human entanglement offers a moment of relief, but that is only temporary. After this short breath of air, months of empty stomach knots and wild cries of pride ensue. These poems weave through the rough endings, the gasping middles, and the brilliant becomings of all human connections.
