One hundred twenty-eight community-dwelling adults aged 60 and older (M = 71.4 years, SD = 7.21) rated strategies to solve four hypothetical health problems in two domains: heart, arthritis (one mild problem and one severe problem in each domain). Overall, results suggest that gender and marital status, as well as the domain, and severity of health problems impact older adults' rating of strategies to solve health-related problems. The effects of gender, marital status and severity differed within each of the domains of health problems.
