In order to determine whether a child had been exposed to components of technology, the components or components of technology were determined. The current directions and trends in Ontario education are also discussed. The thesis involved the creation of a design instrument to facilitate the search for technology in the home environment. The general conclusion was that all children studied from ages two through four, regardless of gender or socio-economic group, had been exposed to a high number of components of technology, and a variety of different technology components. The study further suggested that children have a 'technology set' which is part of their learning experience, and which affected the way in which they viewed their environment.
